Teaching Philosophy

My Job Is to Make Myself Redundant

My goal as a teacher is to get you to the point where you never need lessons again. You should be able to pursue any direction in music with the knowledge and confidence I've given you. That's a self-defeating business model, but it's the right way to teach.

If You're Not Practicing, That's On Me

I believe if a student isn't practicing, that's 90% my fault. It means I haven't found a way to motivate them or build that passion. A good teacher creates students who are enthusiastic, motivated, and curious about learning.

Respect The Student's Time

Many guitar books, courses, and lessons are high on filler & short on content. I do my best to publish lessons that instead are information dense, covering every important aspect of the topic thoroughly, and without extra fluff. This means that my lessons and courses take extra time to create - I hope that is evident when you learn from them!
