Why I built this
I started this service because I kept missing out on seeing my favorite local bands. They exclusively advertised their shows on Facebook and Instagram, platforms which I actively avoid. Now, whenever they are playing live, I get a text the day before with all the info I need and rarely miss a performance.
It's not just that though - social media companies will actually hide your posts if they contain external links. They want users to stay on their site, not navigate away. So even if your fans are on Facebook/Instagram, they still might miss your posts unless you shell out the dough for a boosted post.
BandAlert solves all that nonsense. Fans sign up quickly by scanning a QR code, or clicking a link. After that, they automatically receive texts to remind them about your upcoming shows.
